Terrestrial ecology, forest ecology, plant-herbivore interactions, population dynamics, wildlife management and conservation.
Research programs :
My research program covers different aspects of applied ecology of terrestrial systems. I'm navigating at the interface of wildlife ecology, forest ecology and management of natural resources. I'm focusing on the roles of northern ungulates on the dynamics of boreal forest ecosystems and inversely on the responses of animal populations to variations in the availability and quality of resources. One of the challenges in the study of plant-herbivore interaction is to look at those systems both from the plant and the animal perspective while considering different scales of analysis (individual, population, community, landscape). As an applied ecologist, I try to bridge the gap between reliable scientific knowledge acquire within robust experimental design and needs of natural resource managers at an operational scale.
